Luxembourg-based job marketplace Job Today has signed a $35 million media for equity deal with RTL Germany, German Media Pool and Spain's Atresmedia. The company previously raised $30 million from Accel Partners, Mangrove Capital, Flint Capital and others.
Job Today currently operates in the UK and Spain, and now plans to launch in Germany with the new funding.
The recruitment platform is easy to join and has a messaging service that simplifies communication between employers and job candidates. The company launched in 2015, and already claims to have processed more than 35 million job applications and attracted 200,000 employers. It is popular with small businesses and is also used by major companies such as McDonald's, Starbucks, and Manpower.
"Finding a job is a vital necessity for millions of youths and general population all across Europe," said Polina Montano, COO of Job Today, in a statement. "It's about time we leverage technology to solve a very human problem."
NOTE: This post was updated on March 10 to clarify that this was a non-cash agreement.
