A few weeks ago, Mårten Mickos, the serial entrepreneur who is most famous for scaling MySQL into a tech giant when this was an extremely rare thing for a European company to do - and ultimately selling it to Sun Microsystems for $1 billion - published a short post on his Facebook feed about the slide deck MySQL used to raise $16 million in funding back in 2003.
Amusingly, Mickos noted that the deck contained close to 190 (!) slides. I tweeted about Mickos’ post, which also advised young founders to keep fundraising pitch decks way shorter, after which the affable entrepreneur invited me to publish the entire MySQL Series B financing pitch deck exclusively on tech.eu.
