French Blacknut, a video game startup, has just raised €2.4 million from several investors and business angels through a crowdfunding campaign on GwenneG.
Blacknut claims to be the "Netflix of the video game". Since January 2016, the startup has been developing an online catalog of video games, on demand, and for all tastes. Its algorithm is based on user preferences to suggest appropriate games.
While the catalog has not officially launched, a beta version will be pre-marketed to testers in June for commercialization by the end of the year. The subscription for the service will be €20 euros per month and will allow members to play unlimited games on computer, tablet and laptop.
Blacknut's catalog currently has about two hundred titles. The company wants to add about ten a month, and attract some 500,000 members within five years.
