A Cloud Guru raises $7 million to expand its cloud training programs in the US

A Cloud Guru, a London-based cloud computing training startup, has raised $7 million from Elephant Venture Capital, the investment firm cofounded by Andy Hunt, one of the founders of Warby Parker.

The startup was founded by Australian brothers Ryan and Sam Kroonenburg and provides on-demand online cloud computing training for services like AWS. Its customers include Expedia and Xero and claims to be cheaper than alternative AWS training services.

A Cloud Guru, which had been bootstrapped up until this point, plans to use the new funds to grow in the US market and expand its training content to other cloud vendors. It has offices in London, Melbourne, Washington DC, and Austin.

“A Cloud Guru was started because I couldn’t find high quality cloud computing training that didn’t cost thousands of dollars,” said Ryan Kroonenburg. “Our mission is to make great cloud certification training available to as many people as possible. The very best content, at roughly the price of a movie ticket.”

“We chose to invest in A Cloud Guru because they’re destroying the existing technical training paradigm,” added Elephant Venture Capital’s Andy Hunt. “It’s amazing that they’ve figured out how to profitably deliver training of this calibre at a price that’s accessible to everyone, and we look forward to helping them reach their millionth customer.”
