Last year, the South Summit attracted over 6,700 founders who were able to share their success stories in thanks to the $55 billion from over 750 investors that attended. As the number of founders and investors continue to grow, South Summit consolidates itself as a global reference point within the innovation ecosystem by supporting the growing network of its founders and its startup competition.

In addition to the 4,300 corporates attending last year, a high-level presence will also be seen this year. Recognisable corporate powers include Paul Misener, Vice-president of the Global Innovation Policy for Amazon; Jennifer Kanyamibwa, Senior Director of strategy and operations for product design at Twitter, and Ciaran Quilty, EMEA Vice President of Facebook. Other successful speakers include the CEOs and co-founders from N26, Badi, Eventbrite, and Raisin among a variety of other successful entrepreneurs.

South Summit will take place from the 2nd to the 4th of October in Madrid. Taking place in the renowned “La Nave,” the summit is highlighting its impressive 3,700 projects from 115 different countries. As part of its startup competition, the event will narrow down the projects to 100 finalists by over 150 experts. 95 percent of startups that have previously participated at South Summit are still presently active with more than $2.8 billion in investment. With that being said, the stage for the South Summit 2019 champion is in high excitement for this year’s event.

But if projects aren’t your thing, the event will host EnlightED for the second consecutive year to host seminars and active events through both days. EnlightED will have its own space to speak on the reinvention of education in the digital world as well as active environments to propose and share innovative experiences with the focus of making education accessible to everyone.

If you haven’t been to Madrid before, here’s the perfect excuse for some travel and a wealth of knowledge ahead of you. For more information, you can check out the South Summit website for times and ticket registration.
