Budapest-based collaboration tool Craft raises $8 million in series A round

Hungarian writing, thinking, and collaborating platform Craft Docs has raised $8 million in a series A investment.

Led by Creandum, the round also saw participation from InReach Ventures and Gareth Williams, co-founder and former CEO of Skyscanner.

“Since our first discussions we’ve been impressed by both the amount of love users have for Craft, as well as the team’s unique ability to create a product that is beautiful and powerful at the same time,” comments Creandum General Partner Fredrik Cassel. “The upcoming features around connectivity and data accessibility truly set Craft apart from the competition.”

Only just 5 months old, Craft has seen solid adoption and user growth, with Macstories giving Craft’s focus on quality, performance and data ownership high marks. Craft has been able to see the writing on the wall, and in envisioning a new way for both individuals and teams to work, an area where existing tools aren’t keeping pace.

“Our vision with Craft is for teams and individuals to be able to bring ideas together in one place, on any device, so they can better understand, structure, share, and collaborate. So far, we’ve focused on building the editor that enables this but with the help of the new funding, we can accelerate and continue building the last missing parts – deep integrations and connections to other systems so you can push or pull data easily,” says Craft founder and CEO Balint Orosz.
