Madrid-based autonomous operations software for wind turbines maker Green Eagle Solutions has raised €2.5 million in a Series A round from SET Ventures and Kibo Ventures. The firm reports that the funding will be used to scale up in sales and marketing teams, client deliverable capabilities, and propel international expansion. As part of the deal, SET Ventures’ Anton Arts and Kibo Ventures’ Juan Lopez will join the board.
Founded in 2012 by Alejandro Cabrera and Juan Fernández, Green Eagle uses AI-based algorithms to improve efficiency and increase production at wind farms. Additionally, the firm’s ARSOS platform allows remote staff to operate a vast number of turbines per operator and uses external data to execute efficient and effective operations methods.
Green Eagle’s technology is currently is in daily operation at over 1,000 turbines across Southern Europe with German energy company RWE using the ARSOS platform to optimise and remotely operate its fleet in Spain and Italy.
“With a product forged during years of specialised consulting in the field, Green Eagle is poised to drive down costs of wind energy, already the largest source of renewable energy in the world,” sums up SET Ventures’ Anton Arts.
