Copenhagen-based guest experience management platform Superb raises €12 million in Series A round

Copenhagen’s guest experience management platform Superb has raised €12 million in Series A round led by Kinnevik. The round also saw participation from Knight Capital, previous investor Seed Capital, and Angel Investors Björn Lindberg and Michael Conyers. Superb is expected to use the fresh funds to up the headcount and expand internationally, with Germany in its sights by year's end, and the UK on tap for 2022. The firm is also reporting a rollout of its guest profile feature. To date, Superb has raised €13.5 million.

Founded in 2017 by Martin Jensen and Zaedo Musa, Superb focuses on creating a delightful and seamless guest experience, all while providing the back room with valuable insights. The startup offers table management tools, guest profiles (beta), no-show protection, event and host ticketing, giftcards, and guest communication tools. In other words, instead of a fragmented restaurant workplace, Superb brings the entire workflow under one umbrella.

Now if you’re a regular reader at (and why wouldn’t you be?), you’ll note that Superb is certainly not alone in the sector. At least in parts. However, what the other players on the field do not have is the backing of Kinnevik, who have been dumping boatloads of cash into the home groceries market, and perhaps with lockdown restrictions beginning to lift, are testing the waters with audiences returning to the in-restaurant experience. And after dining at home in our pajamas for as many months (or was that just me?), are truly expecting a user experience bar none.

The restaurant segment remains underserved and software providers are still largely national. Against that backdrop, we feel that Superb is very well positioned to provide their customers with a great solution that in turn enables them to deliver fantastic guest experiences,” comments Kinnevik’s Andreas Bernström.
