Remember SPACs? SPEAR Investments raises €175 million in Euronext listing

A fresh special purpose acquisition company (or SPAC if you've forgotten about those thingies) has just listed on Euronext Amsterdam, raising €175 million in the process.

The 18th SPAC to list on Euronext markets this year alone, SPEAR Investments I will scout for interesting opportunities in companies with technology and innovation-driven growth models.

Not much else is known about SPEAR, but it says it has a "multi-disciplinary team" spanning equity capital markets professionals, M&A and investment experts, founders, operators and tech experts.

One of its co-CEOs is John St. John, but it's unclear whether this concerns the American voice actor who is best known voicing Duke Nukem in the eponymous game. One can only hope that it is.

Either way, his fellow CEO is Jorge Lucaya, a Spanish financier who's CEO of AZ Capital.

Ending with a fun fact: Lucaya says SPEAR stands for "Successful Partners in Europe for Accelerating Returns". How about that.
