On the back of the massive $73 million in Series B funding in January this year, Cologne-based cybersecurity awareness provider SoSafe has now geared up for its European expansion. The startup is now expanding business to four new regions within Europe in the Benelux, Nordics, Southern Europe, and the U.K./Ireland.
Talking about going beyond the DACH region, Dr. Niklas Hellemann, founder and managing director, SoSafe said: “Having secured market leadership in the DACH market, we now plan to extend this leadership across Europe. We focus on the human factor by building our product on behavioral science and developing it with scientists based on actual data. In doing so, we support companies in minimising cyber risks by activating their 'human firewall' – and will soon do so worldwide.”
Founded in 2018, the startup is empowering organisations to build a security culture and mitigate risk with its GDPR-compliant awareness programmes. The company will now open an office in London. By the end of the year, it aims to grow the team to around 500 employees across all offices. Besides London, the company plans to open further offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Paris. Going forward, the startup has also brought on board four internationally experienced B2B and SaaS executives for the new market regions as well as for ‘outside of Europe’ to prepare for the next phase of the expansion.
The markets in the UK and Ireland will be headed by director Rohit Gami. He added: “Cybersecurity is on people’s minds, but everyone forgets about the human aspect of it. The platform, however, has managed to develop an innovative solution that sustainably and effectively helps companies and employees to integrate cybersecurity into their everyday lives.”
