Lithuania’s Learnoverse lures $1 million

Vilnius-based blockchain-powered online education platform BitDegree has raised $1 million in a seed funding round, with plans to further develop its metaverse-based product, aptly dubbed, the Learnoverse. The platform aims to offer a creative and user-engaging way to learn about blockchain, crypto, and web3-related technologies, within a web3 technology.

Using a gamification model, BitDegree’s Learnoverse will offer students, educators, and oddly, brands, the opportunity to interact and “their knowledge and status through NFTs” while BitDegree’s “new concept in education, Learn & Earn” will be used to reward and motivate students.

Editor's note: To learn, or to learn how to game the system?

"Over the last few months, our novel concept of a learning metaverse has received attention from a lot of big players in the crypto and education communities,” commented BitDegree co-founder and CEO Danielius Stasiulis.

BitDegree’s $1 million seed funding was provided by Japan/ Singapore-based Mistletoe.

"We truly believe that education is the key to the Web3 internet revolution. BitDegree, a leading education platform for blockchain-focused topics, has a powerful vision to attract more learners to the space via an immersive metaverse experience,” commented Misteltoe’s Atsushi Taira. “Its more than 40 people strong team, experience, and a big existing user base are important factors that led us to this decision."

The voiceover alone is worth the watch
