Licenseware raises €1 million+ "late seed" to help businesses keep a lid on software licensing costs

With its open app ecosystem, Licenseware aims to help enterprises reduce software licensing costs by providing access to products built using its streamlined development framework.
Licenseware raises €1 million+

Bucharest-born open app ecosystem business Licenseware has raised €1 million from investors led by Early Game Ventures in what is being billed as a late seed-stage raise.

The round is also backed by Fortech Investments, Acequia Capital, Hellen's Rock, with further interest shown from Roca X, Growceanu, Transylvania Angels Network and Starup Wise Guys (Licenseware doesn't say whether these four investors actually backed the round).

Fortech and Early Game Ventures also backed Licenseware last December with €500,000 of pre-seed funds.

Licenseware runs an open app ecosystem where users can access a range of third party enterprise apps with competitive licensing fees, underpinned by a public SDK (development framework) that reduces development lead times and expenditure.

Ciprian Grigore, chief technology officer and co-founder, said: "Over the course of this year, our team has been hard at work perfecting the way we build and deliver apps.

"Our SDK makes building apps a breeze, our platform is reaching new levels of stability and observability, and our data engineers have the ability to extract insights out of any dataset, no matter how complex.

"This new investment round will allow us to deliver on Licenseware’s promise: faster time to value and reliable, easy to understand business insights for our customers."
