Former Edelman and Improbable executive Camille Oster has joined London-based PR and communications service MVPR, filling the role of Director of Operations.
Representing the London side of Edelman’s Emerge division, one specialising in and dedicated to helping startups not only craft their message and share their story, but also attract the all-important eyes, ears, and hearts of investors. She joins fellow former Edelman and MVPR founder Tom Lawrence, who ran the German division of Emerge.
As MVPR’s seventh team member and serving as Director of Operations, Camille’s tasked with further developing and scaling MVPR’s operations and partnership relationships in tandem with driving employee development and hiring. Prior to joining MVPR, Oster had served as Head of Public Relations at London-based gaming engine turned metaverse/virtual worlds creator, Improbable, which has been in the news as of late.
On the decision to join MVPR, Oster commented, "As a pre-series B startup, it's pointless for you to hire a team of consultants to drive your media relations. You are likely 100% focused on building the product, and don't have the time or money it would take to make an agency relationship worth your while, yet you still need to put your news and stories out there.
For me, it’s an opportunity to lower the barrier to entry for PR support and influence how the industry adapts to adopt a data-first mindset, meaning more interesting professional paths at every level. I’m really looking forward to working on both.”
In a relatively short amount of time, the 1.5-year-old firm has garnered the patronage of startups that have been backed by SpeedInvest, SoftBank Emerge fund, Seedcamp, LocalGlobe, and Balderton.
