Stockholm’s got a new VC player as Node Ventures launches €70 million fund

Having raised over two-thirds of a targeted €70 million fund (800 million SEK), Stockholm’s Node Ventures is officially launching its sector-agnostic fund today. The firm intends to focus on early-stage companies, offering initial tickets ranging from approximately €450,000 (5 million SEK) to approximately €2.2 million (25 million SEK).

Saminvest is the cornerstone investor with a number of undisclosed entrepreneurs and business operators also contributing.

The 8-person Node Ventures founding team includes Daniela Sjunnesson former CMO at Paradox Interactive, John Elvesjö and Mårten Skogö who co-founded Tobii and Tobii Dynavox, and Henrik Tellving the founder of allabolag.se.

Beyond the operator side of the equation, the Node Ventures team also includes Chris Albinsson, Jonas Malm, and Andy Johnston, all former team members, with the latter being a co-founder, of yet again, Stockholm’s Brightly Ventures.

“Historically, the Nordics has steadily delivered successful tech companies and we believe that the current market conditions present a unique opportunity for our first fund to make exceptional investments,” says Node Ventures Partner Daniela Sjunnesson. “Our approach is sector agnostic with proactive monitoring of digital entertainment, deeptech, future of work, and platform technology.”
