Swiss climatetech Jua has raised $11 million in a Series A funding round to advance its Earth Intelligence Platform, an AI-powered decision engine built to simulate and predict the behaviour of the physical world.
The round was co-led by Ananda Impact Ventures and Future Energy Ventures, with continued support from early backers including 468 Capital, Promus Ventures, and others.
The fresh capital will be used to scale the commercial rollout of its platform in the energy sector, expand into adjacent markets such as agriculture and logistics, and double down on R&D.
The raise brings Jua’s total funding to date to $27 million, following a $16 million seed round in 2024.
At the core of Jua’s offering is EPT-2.0, a proprietary large physics model trained on petabytes of data from multiple domains. This model powers the Earth Intelligence Platform, enabling clients (especially energy traders) to simulate global and local weather, energy supply-demand fluctuations, and grid-level dynamics in real-time.
“With our Earth Intelligence Platform, we’ve turned the world’s most advanced Earth simulation into a practical decision engine,” said Marvin Gabler, co-founder and newly appointed CEO of Jua. “This is a foundational step toward mastering our planetary future.”
Extreme weather events and geopolitical shocks have made resource forecasting a high-stakes challenge for companies and governments alike. In the energy sector, where milliseconds can make or break profitability, precision forecasting tools are becoming essential.
“Jua is not just improving forecasts; they are redefining what’s possible,” said Jan Palasinski, Partner at Future Energy Ventures. “They’re establishing themselves as a category leader in foundational models of the natural world, exactly the kind of innovation needed to accelerate the energy transition.”
The platform is in use by leading energy trading firms, who rely on it to simulate supply-demand imbalances, anticipate pricing movements, and automate decision workflows.
“Jua is building one of the most important technological foundations for our planet’s future,” said Florian Erber, General Partner at Ananda Impact Ventures. “The team combines world-class talent in AI and Earth science with the technical depth to execute at scale. We invest in ventures with deep, systemic impact: Jua is a standout example.”
