Climatiq secures €10M to establish carbon as an enterprise KPI

Climatiq, a provider of carbon intelligence infrastructure has closed a €10 million Series A. Climatiq's API-first platform embeds accurate emissions data directly within enterprise software, where business activities are managed, to eliminate the information silos that prevent real carbon action.

Through integrations with over 200 business operations platforms, Climatiq has delivered over a billion carbon calculations via its APIs in the last 12 months to global businesses. Additionally, Climatiq serves a growing community of 30,000 sustainability professionals, researchers, and non-profits using its free offering.

Hessam Lavi, Co-Founder and CEO at Climatiq, said:

Companies are demanding carbon visibility across all business functions—from strategy and planning to manufacturing and distribution—not just within CSR teams. They want their existing tools to become carbon-aware rather than adopting separate tools. Our embedded approach makes emissions data part of daily business decisions where they actually have an impact.

The fresh funding will be used to enhance Climatiq’s AI capabilities, which automate the delivery of emissions calculations for activities, products, and suppliers.

A key focus will be scope 3 emissions, such as those stemming from suppliers and the transportation of goods. These emissions typically represent 90 per cent of a company’s carbon footprint, but are currently challenging to accurately assess due to fragmented data and complex carbon accounting methodologies.

The round was led by Alstin Capital, with participation from existing investors Singular and Cherry Ventures.

Alexander Meyer-Scharenberg, Principal at Alstin Capital, believes that CO₂ emissions have become a significant cost factor for companies, driven by regulation, internal carbon pricing, and growing investor pressure. He said:

Effective emissions management requires reliable data, scalable calculation methodologies, and the accurate attribution of emissions to business processes. Even with that in place, they need to be visible to every decision-maker in an organization. With its comprehensive database and AI-based emission factor matching and API-integration tools, Climatiq is in the leading position to become the central infrastructure provider for emissions data.

Climatiq will also invest in supporting its partner ecosystem and in deepening its scientific database, which currently covers over 200,000 emission conversion factors across global territories and economic sectors.
