Spain’s Psious, a VR startup that’s working on a platform for the treatment of mental health disorders, has raised €8 million in a funding round co-led by Sabadell Asabys, Caixa Capital Micro II, and Caixa Capital Tic II, with participation from Banc Sabadell and Carlos Gallardo.
Psious plans to use the capital injections to complete its VR platform that can be used to treat “anxiety disorders (phobias, panic, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder), stress management, depression, attention problems such as ADHD, and autistic spectrum and psychotic disorders,” it stated in a press release. The startup is also gearing up for geographic expansion, both within Europe and globally.
The Psious platform allows doctors to use VR in order to simulate different controlled environments for the patients. It also provides a range of features like session logs and pre-configured protocols for the treatment of different phobias and disorders.
