Wix.com, the Tel Aviv-based company behind the eponymous cloud-based web development platform, has reported earnings for the second quarter of 2014.
Revenues increased 82% to $33.9 million compared to $18.6 million for the second quarter of 2013, but (GAAP) net loss deepened from $5.2 million in Q2 2013 to $13.8 million in the past quarter.
Wix.com expects to report slightly higher revenue numbers for this quarter.
In a statement, Wix.com co-founder and CEO Avishai Abrahami also notes that the company has now surpassed 50 million registered users (up from 35.6 million in Q2 2013) and 1 million premium subscriptions. Wix.com charges for premium templates and services.
In other news, Wix is partnering with Google on the open beta launch of its new domain registration service, Google Domains, giving users who purchase a domain from the search and advertising behemoth the option to choose Wix to build their site.
