EIF and KfW Bankengruppe team up to provide €1 billion to German start-ups

We've written before that the funding gap between the UK and Germany is smaller than you might think, and that gap looks set to close further still as The European Investment Fund (EIF) and the German promotional bank KfW Bankengruppe have teamed up to provide €1 billion for German startups under COSME– an EU funding programme for SMEs.

Although not strictly venture funding, 15,000 German startups and SME's look set to benefit from the €1 billion in loans that will be available over the next two and a half years, providing plenty of companies the capital required to kickstart their ventures.
