Berlin-based Vamos, an event discovery platform, has been acquired by fellow Berlin startup Fanmiles, which connects fans with celebrities and sports stars through loyalty reward programs. No financial details were disclosed.
Up until this point Vamos, which was founded in 2012, has been bootstrapped and Fanmiles recently secured investment from German football star Phillip Lahm.
Vamos CTO Jens Dressler will be joining the company as its new CTO to lead the tech team that will be developing the platform for event organisers and ticket sellers. Their first project will be a forthcoming mobile app.
“The team and I are working hard to create a platform that transforms our vision into a product, a scalable mobile first platform,” said Dressler. “And with the new developer program we will release later this year, it will be very easy to integrate Fanmiles functionality into 3rd party apps.”
“By acquiring Vamos, we want to make Fanmiles accessible to promoters, theaters, event venues and their fans. We are delighted to have found such a perfect fit for our vision and for the Fanmiles management in Jens Dressler,” said Fabian Schmidt, CEO of Fanmiles.
