Malmö-based startup Anima raised €1 million for its connected watch, Kronaby, which is now launching in the US. The funding came from the Chinese component manufacturer Goertek.
Kronaby watches are available in four analog models and can, among other things, control music, take pictures from a mobile phone, or save a location where the user has been. The watch alerts the wearer of phone notifactions using vibrations, and also has a silent alarm.
"The mobile phone industry was fundamentally changing. We all felt a drive to create something new and participate in the next digital transformation around the internet of things," said Sarandis Kalogeropulos, one of the Anima's founders, to DiDigital.
