French restaurant booking app Bim raises €2.5 million

Bim, a French restaurant table booking app, has raised €2.5 million in new funding to begin its international expansion.

The investment comes from several business angels including Blablacar cofounder Frédéric Mazzella and Havas Group CEO Yannick Bolloré.

Bim’s app allows people to book tables in restaurants that have been cancelled last minute. It is currently used in 1,000 restaurants (200 in Paris) and has inked a partnership with Uber to integrate ride hailing into the app.

The company will be launching in ten new cities in 2018 including London, Copenhagen, New York, and Tokyo. The new funds will also be used to develop and launch a new upgraded version of the app.
