Bring!, the Swiss shopping assistant app, has announced a Series A funding round of $2.5 million led by Swisscom Ventures, the investment arm of the telco, Swiss Founders Fund and a number of business angels.
The app helps users share and edit shopping lists across their households. It will be adding a shopping component to the app shortly as well as further developing AI features in the service. It’s currently running with users in Switzerland and Germany and will use the funds to expand across Europe.
“User and strategic partnership growth in Switzerland and Germany confirms our performance and relevance in the shopping ecosystem. We witness a great need for innovations in shopping experience,” said CEO Marco Cerqui.
“For many people, shopping arrangements are still an annoying task. Our vision is to provide all our users with a personal assistant to help them with menu planning, shopping arrangements, and in-store and online shopping,” commented cofounder and COO Dominic Mehr, Bring! co-founder and CCO.
“With its intuitive and user-friendly interface, the Bring! mobile app is already a frequently used companion of many grocery shoppers for noting down their purchase intentions, which naturally creates a range of future business opportunities for Bring!” said Pär Lange, investment director at Swisscom Ventures.
