Berlin automation software startup Productive Mobile has raised €3.4 million led by HV Holtzbrinck Ventures with participation from Hans Georg Näder, CEO of the Ottobock Group.
The startup builds software for automating certain human processes but not completely replacing them. The field is known as Human Process Augmentation (HPA) and helps companies make simple applications for various tasks.
“In the 21st century, automation will disrupt white collar work like it has disrupted blue collar work in the past. But rather than replacing humans, we want to augment them with smart technologies. People remain at the center of decision making,” said CEO Anthony Hsiao.
The seed funding will be invested in bringing a product to the wider market. It already has clients in the automotive, insurance, energy, and pharmaceutical sectors.
The approach differs from Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which automates repetitive tasks.
“Our unique approach of combining the best of ‘Robotic Process Automation’ with modern interface design tools attracts great interest in the industry” said COO Yann Le Gouic.
“We are impressed by the team and their product. Productive Mobile revolutionizes the way enterprise software workflows are built, optimized and automated because of its fast implementation and lower costs,” added Jasper Masemann, principal at HV Holtzbrinck Ventures.
