Swiss tennis platform GotCourts raises $1 million to expand across Europe

Swiss sports startup GotCourts, an SaaS platform providing an online community for players of racquet sports (tennis, badminton, padel, and squash), as well as coaches and operators of court facilities, has raised $1 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Investiere.ch, with participation from FortyOne Group, existing investors including the Swiss Founders Fund, and business angels from Switzerland and Germany.

GotCourts doubled its number of users in 2017, and currently processes about 2,000 court bookings each day. Through the platform, members can access over 1,000 courts at 300 clubs in Switzerland, and over 200 courts across Europe. Members can also use the platform to organise internal championships at clubs with real time rankings of players.

GotCourts plans to use the new funding to strengthen its position in Switzerland, and to expand into additional European markets.

“Our product roadmap is still packed with features that we will roll out over the course of the coming months,” said Zurich-based CEO Diego Seitz.

“Going forward, we’ll put a lot of emphasis on helping clubs outside of Switzerland to get started with GotCourts to allow our members to book their courts,” added Seitz. GotCourts also plans to add a player network to their mobile app to help players find partners for their games.
