Dutch business travel app Roadmap raises €4 million Series A

Roadmap, an Amsterdam-based business travel platform and app, has raised a Series A round of €4 million. The round was led by Newion Investments and the founders of Roadmap.

Roadmap, an app that "acts as a Swiss army knife", offers several different functionalities. The app allows businesses to arrange travel plans and transportation for their employees, facilitates communication between travelers during their business trip, and produces travel companion guides to help employees discover local sites of interest during their trip.

The company was founded by CEO Jeroen van Velzen, CCO Koen Bavinck, and COO Markus Emmer in April 2015 with the purpose of enhancing the travel experience for business travelers. The startup aims to improve savings for businesses, and increase the safety, productivity, and satisfaction of travelers.

“The Roadmap team grabbed an opportunity to become the preferred partner for Fortune 500 companies and is acknowledged as a thought and product leader in travel experience technology," commented Patrick Polak, founder and managing partner of Newion. "The product is truly unique in its kind, ready to disrupt corporate travel. We are very excited to work with the team and expand the leadership position within the coming years. Newion is impressed with the top tier customer base and astounded by the positive customers reviews of Roadmap.”

Roadmap will use the proceeds of the funding to further develop its product to create a seamless travel experience, and invest in marketing and sales.
