Yours truly is quite excited to be traveling to Bahrain for the first time for this year's local edition of Unbound, dubbed the Middle East's 'biggest innovation festival'. As you can imagine, I'm not sure what to expect, but keen to explore the differences and similarities between the MENA region's startup ecosystems and the European tech scene.
I'll be joining 100+ speakers on stage; the line-up includes Tim Draper (who I'm sure for this audience needs no introduction), Tom Goodwin (EVP Innovation, Zenith Media), Aziza Salman (Head of Innovation & Startup Ecosystem, MENA, Unbound Innovations), Wissam Kadi (Global Director of SAP's Next-Gen Labs), Ahmad AlDarwish (the founder of Falcon Robotics), Frank Meehan (a co-founder and partner of SparkLabs), Tamara Pupic (managing editor of Entrepreneur Middle East and plenty more.
Unbound Bahrain is expecting roughly 3,000 delegates, mostly from the region but also from other parts of the planet, as the event zeroes in on topics such as sustainability, fintech, AI, blockchain and venture capital.
If you're in or near the kingdom on 6 or 7 March, let's meet at its national theatre! We have 10 free tickets to give away - simply use the code TECHEU10 upon checkout.
The conference is actually part of, or I should say the anchor event of 'StartUp Bahrain Week', held under the patronage of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in association with the Bahrain's Economic Development Board and Tamkeen (The Labour Fund) as a strategic partner for the startup community in Bahrain.
As for Unbound, they do events around the world (including in London, Miami and Singapore) but this will be my first ever, so hope to see you there!
