Laundrapp, a UK on-demand laundry service, has been acquired by Inc & Co Group, a London-based holding company that buys digital businesses. The goal is to help the startup capitalise on the global market for tech-assisted dry cleaning, which is projected to reach $52 billion by 2022, up from $12 billion in 2017.
Founded in 2015, Laundrapp grew across the UK and acquired Berlin’s laundry service, Zipjet, just last year. Based in London, Inc & Co acquires digital companies across sectors such as SaaS, PR, and software development, with plans to provide operational support and help businesses scale.
"This business, with its ambitious growth plans, is a great fit within our group. It’s very much a part of our strategy to have forward-thinking technology, and digital products and services within the group," said Jack Mason, CEO of the holding company. Under the provision of Inc & Co, Laundrapp plans to level up in a few areas of the business, such as revamping the digital offering of its website and app, and employing a high-level customer acquisition and retention strategy. Otherwise, operations will not change much. “It’s business as usual for our customers, the Laundrapp team, partners and suppliers, and I’m excited to be receiving additional support from the group with our ambitious growth strategy,” said Dominik Wellmann, CEO of Laundrapp.
