KRY, a Swedish digital healthcare company, is launching a new web-based platform that allows healthcare professionals to hold video consultations with their patients. Care Connect is designed as a secure method for patients to access healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Maintaining patients’ access to healthcare whilst keeping our population safe from the spread of infection is our priority. For many patients self-isolating at home, there is an urgent need to access doctors for other healthcare needs beyond coronavirus,” explained Annette Alaeus, Head of Infectious Diseases at KRY.
Once a health professional is verified by Care Connect, they can text a patient directly, sending a link that opens a video chat. The platform is free for any healthcare professional in Europe and available in ten languages so far: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch and Polish.
The video consultation platform is one of several products the health tech company is developing in response to the pandemic. CEO and co-founder Johannes Schildt said: “We’ve delivered double our normal appointments in the past fortnight across our core markets of Germany, Norway, Sweden, France and the UK. Beyond our core offer, we are working round the clock to adapt our offer and find new solutions to help monitor and care for affected patients, as well as developing new products to ensure patients with other health issues can still see a doctor."
