Paris-based retail collaboration platform Alkemics snapped up by Boston’s Salsify

Parisian retail collaboration and supplier experience management platform Alkemic has been acquired by Boston-based commerce experience management platform Salsify. That's a whole lot of experience management. Alkemics CEO and founder Antoine Durieux and the rest of the executive team will continue to lead Alkemics business operations. Salsify and Alkemics have a long-established working relationship, with the acquisition now making that relationship formal.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"We have already been partners for years with a built-in integration to Salsify for their customers to transmit data to our EMEA retailer customers," comments Durieux. "The acquisition enables us to be even more valuable to customers on their digital transformation journeys by providing them with a platform that is collaborative, open, and interoperable. The result is the ability to constantly adapt to, and even anticipate new commerce trends.”

The combined capabilities of the two companies will amount to the only platform that provides a continuously adaptive system of record and workflow for brands and retailers to collaborate on.

In doing so, the Salsify/Alkemics platform is seeking to wipe out the intermediary legacy processes which were originally designed for brick and mortar shops.

“Alkemics has very elegantly solved a major problem for retailers, cleanly complementing Salsify’s focus on solving the problems that brand manufacturers face,” says Salsify co-founder and CEO Jason Purcell. “Combining our teams of product-centric engineering and data innovators into a single global Commerce Experience Management provider will transform how retailers and suppliers deliver the best consumer experience possible.”
