London-based online community SaaS platform Zapnito has raised £3.3 million in a Series A round from Octopus Ventures. Zapnito reports that the Cephalopoda delivered funding will be used to accelerate growth by helping more organisations deploy online communities in a post-pandemic, social media sucks world, namely through building upon its virtual events capabilities, analytics tools, and suite of integrations.
Founded in 2014 by Charles Thiede and Jon Beer, Zapnito combines knowledge-sharing with community interaction and has shown strong interest from companies throughout the pandemic, as these businesses have had to retool how they stay connected with their customer base.
Zapnito captures collective intelligence from its members through customer insights, engagement numbers, and user-generated creations from customers, partners, and prospects.
The company counts Springer Nature and Wiley, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and Sova Assessment amongst its client base.
“Community management is now a crucial part of how brands service their customers. It can also help showcase their identity among the most loyal subscribers and contributors. In Zapnito, Charles and Jon have developed a market-leading proposition that enables companies to embrace the power of communities by harnessing collective intelligence,” comments Octopus Ventures’ Paul Davidson. “This is a trend that we see gathering pace as brands seek to take greater control of their narrative.”
