Swedish ultrafast grocery delivery startup Kavall raises €4.9 million

Kavall, the first company in the Swedish market to offer the ever prevalent groceries to your door in under 10 minutes service has raised €4.9 million. The funding is expected to expand the startups’ services to more cities and neighborhoods across Sweden.

Building upon the global phenomenon of ultrafast home delivery services, Kavall is just another one to add to the list. While this is pure speculation, I can only assume the startup is looking to build out a network and aim for an acquisition, as there’s absolutely nothing original in the idea or method of delivery. Couriers on e-bikes, dark stores, etc. seen in all before; rinse, repeat, get acquired.

VNV Global and Inbox Capital led the investment round with angel investors Fredrik Jung-Abbou from Kry and Samir Bachkani, who founded Hungrig.se which was later acquired by Foodora in 2019. Need I say more?

“Kavall has a strong and complete team of founders who have impressed us from day one with their speed in going from idea to live and fully operational service. If 10 percent of the grocery market would shift to online, it would mean an addressable market of over 1800 billion Euros in Europe, so the potential is huge. We are proud of this partnership and we look forward to continuing backing Kavall in their ambition to become a market leader,” says VNV Global’s CEO Per Brilioth.
