Berlin-based digital coaching platform CoachHub has raised $200 million in a Series C funding round. Using a proprietary AI-based solution, CoachHub matches customers with the perfect fit amongst a network of over 3,500 certified business and well-being coaches in 90 countries across six continents in 60 different languages. The new pile of cash is expected to further fuel CoachHub’s explosive growth and expansion plans. To date, the startup has raised approximately $330 million.
Founded in 2018, none of us could have predicted a global shutdown, but the timing for founders Matti Niebelschuetz and Yannis Niebelschuetz couldn’t have been better (if that’s even the right way to say it?). Nothing’s perfect straight out of the gate, and the CoachHub team had a reasonable amount of time to refine their process before demand shot through the roof.
According to a CoachHub-produced Global HR Survey, “77% of learning and development professionals feel there is now a greater need to train and develop employees than before the COVID-19 pandemic”. It’s precisely statistics like this that’s driven brands including Coca-Cola, Danone, Toyota, LVMH, L'Oréal, Credit Suisse, and Twitter straight t CoachHub’s doors.
“As workplaces continue adapting to the new normal of hybrid and remote models, leaders need individual support and solutions to boost employee performance, engagement, and motivation, while keeping wellbeing at the forefront,” said Matti Niebelschuetz. “Digital coaching offers these benefits and more, resulting in spiking global demand for CoachHub’s services.”
CoachHub’s $200 million Series C round was led by Sofina and SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and saw the participation of existing investors Molten Ventures, Speedinvest, HV Capital, Signals Venture Capital, and Silicon Valley Bank/SVB Capital.
“We believe 1:1 coaching will continue to be one of the most effective ways of enhancing the socio-emotional and leadership skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving workplace. As a company that seeks to democratise access to quality coaching, CoachHub's mission resonates with our Responsible Investment strategy. We look forward to partnering with them to further their global ambitions,” commented Sofina's Harold Boël, CEO. "This funding round comes on the heels of CoachHub’s expansion into the Asian market as well as the acquisition of leading French coaching platform MoovOne and leading Austrian provider Klaiton Coaching, elevating CoachHub into the global category leader."
