Employee benefits platform WiiSmile has received an investment north of €70 million that will see Eurazeo become the company’s majority shareholder. Existing WiiSmile investor NextStage AM stated that they plan to reinvest a portion of the sale proceeds and will retain their minority stake in the firm.
In operation for just over 20 years, WiiSmile focuses on offering small and medium-sized enterprises the same perks oft reserved for much larger organisations including travel services, discounted tickets for entertainment and sports events, and a recreational or cultural activities and personal services reimbursement scheme.
Over this two-decade run, WiiSmile reports working with over 8,500 companies and by extension, providing benefits for well over 100,000 employees, and in 2021 generated an ARR of approximately €18 million.
With the acquisition, Eurozeo aims to ramp up WiiSmile’s customer acquisitions as well as drive the development of new services, new partnerships, and acquisitions of specialist players.
“Eurazeo’s investment in WiiSmile is an important new step to accelerate the growth and development of our business as we advance further along the path we have pursued with passion for more than 20 years: giving owners of MSMEs and their employees access to all the benefits and services considered the exclusive prerogative of larger companies,” commented WiiSmile CEO Sylvain Bianchini.
