Cloud communications platform Infobip has acquired Eastern European tech and business publication Netokracija. The publication will remain an independent editorial team, save only now operating within the Infobip Group. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition only further strengthens Infobips’ growing influence in the region, as it quickly follows April’s announcement of the purchase of the highly influential Shift conference
With a track record spanning over 13 years, Netokracija has been and will continue to be, a dominant force in the Serbian and Croatian marketplace, due in part to its heavy emphasis on creating developer-focused content.
“Infobip Shift and Netokracija are joining forces to showcase and empower the development of the local tech, startup, and developer ecosystem, while the global expansion of Netokracija has the potential to amplify the footprint of local startup and developer stories,” said Infobip's chief developer experience officer, and former Shift conference founder, Ivan Burazin.
Netokracija's founder, Ivan Brezak Brkan will take over the role of Infobip's director of developer content, and together with Tena Šojer Keser, will lead the editorial team to create developer-focused written, audio, and video content.
"We have assembled an outstanding team of tech content experts, many of whom have covered the biggest exits and the most significant investments in the region, including the rise of the first Croatian unicorn, Infobip, commented Brkan. “With the support of Infobip in conjunction with new and existing partners, Netokracija will be able to further cement its role as a chronicler of the fastest growing industry in the region."
