Biotech news site Labiotech.eu raises further seed funding

Labiotech.eu, a biotech news resource based in Berlin has secured a funding round from Swiss firm Wille AG, Indiana Capital, JOT-Berlin, and Iduskia alongside a number of previous investors. The investment figure has not been disclosed.

The biotech news site and event organiser’s “six-figure seed round” follows a similar investment from last year, which will be invested in content and product creation as well as growing the team to provide greater biotech coverage in Europe, which it says is lacking.

According to the company, it receives 100,000 monthly visitors and is the largest biotech platform in Europe.

“We’re thankful to our existing and new investors for their belief in our mission and for helping us to change how people are informed about biotech,” said Philip Hemme and Joachim Eeckhout, founders of Labiotech.eu in a statement.

“The team at Labiotech.eu has impressed us in the last 18 months and we are very happy to continue to work with them to support their vision,” said Alexander Koelpin, partner at WestTech Ventures, one of the previous investors that re-invested in the company in this round.
