Nothing, a new consumer device company based in London, has raised a $15 million Series A round led by GV. Just two months ago, the company announced $7 million in seed funding from the likes of Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch), Steve Huffman (co-founder and CEO of Reddit), Josh Buckley, Liam Casey and Paddy Cosgrave (founder of WebSummit).
The company has made a bold, vague claim that it will reinvent technology “from scratch”, and that it wants to “inspire people to believe in the positive potential of technology again.” Though it’s still unclear what kind of products the startup will actually produce and sell, Nothing is milking its mysterious brand and has somehow racked up tens of thousands of followers on Twitter and Instagram since unveiling itself last month.
According to a press release (that includes no details about the products to come), the UK company plans to expand its operations in Europe, build a consumer community and release its first smart devices in the coming months. Nothing also plans to open up the Series A so that the general public can invest in the round; more information to come in the next few weeks.
Stay tuned?
