New York expansion hub Spark Labs is launching a new one week program to help foreign startups expand into the US market.
Expand NYC is available to European startups to enter and has been designed with input from IBM Cloud, Amazon, SalesForce for Startups, and Rubicon Ventures. The program aims to connect startups with the right contacts and resources to plan their growth in the US in areas like sales, seeking funding, or legal issues.
There will be five one week sessions in April, May, June, July, and August. The program costs $2,990 for successful participants with no equity taken. Applicants will not require a visa to take part.
“Spark Labs is devoted to helping foreign tech companies expand to the United States,” said Christophe Garnier, founder and CEO of Spark Labs. “Expand NYC will finally give foreign tech founders and execs the keys to NYC and allow them to engage the U.S. market fast and efficiently."
Mentors confirmed for the program so far include: Nihal Mehta, general partner at Eniac Ventures; Abby Levy, advisor at Seedling; and Ilan Abehassera, CEO of Insensi.
“We had been searching for the right partner for our U.S. expansion,” said Laetitia Gazel Anthoine, CEO at Connecthings, a Paris-based company that raised €9.5 million last year. “We finally chose Spark Labs because of their proven knowledge of the US market, the resources and their support infrastructure. It’s great to be working with a community of likeminded companies who are also expanding to the US.”
