Seven Senders, the Berlin-based delivery platform for parcel shipping has closed a Series C funding round to the tune of €32 million.
Led by Digital+ Partners, btov also participated in the round.
The new capital is expected to be used towards the further technical expansion of the product offering as well as international expansion. The expansion is slated to include the opening of new service hubs to support EU business activities of Chinese and U.S.-based online retailers.
“Since the beginning, we have been invested in the sophisticated technology of Seven Senders and the high degree of logistical expertise. The last 18 months have more than proven us right. In expanding its international shipping service, Seven Senders seized the opportunities offered by the overall positive market development. So we are pleased to jointly drive the further growth of Seven Senders to make it the European number one in parcel shipping,” comments Digital+ Partners’ managing director and partner Patrick Beitel.
This raise comes fresh off Seven Senders reporting €100 million in annual revenue, a figure that doubles the previous years’ financials. As a result, the delivery platform has opened new country offices in Amsterdam, Vienna, and Madrid. Additionally, in February of this year, Seven Senders managed to bring a seamless flow of goods to the post-Brexit UK market.
‘Over the last year, we have consistently pursued our growth strategy. Thanks to investment in technology and employees, we were able to help our customers cope with the enormous increase in demand for online retail in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. We will continue to use this positive market development and expand our services, with a view to include dealers outside of the European Economic Area. We are approaching this development with full focus,” adds Seven Senders founder and co-CEO Dr. Johannes Plehn.
To date, Seven Senders counts ASOS, Shop Apotheke, Lillydoo, Mister Spex, Juniqe, Flaconi, Westwing, Best Secret, foodspring, Limango and Thomann amongst their client base.
